Jeff Purvis was a professional race car driver from the United States. He was born on March 22, 1959 in Clarksville, Tennessee. Purvis competed in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, Busch Series, and Craftsman Truck Series throughout his career.
Purvis made his NASCAR debut in 1990 in the Busch Series and went on to compete in over 250 races in the series, earning four wins and several top-ten finishes. He also raced in the Winston Cup Series, making a total of 83 starts between 1994 and 2000.
In addition to his NASCAR career, Purvis also competed in the ARCA Racing Series, where he had a great deal of success. He won the ARCA championship in 1993 and also won the prestigious Talladega ARCA 500 in 2001.
Tragically, Jeff Purvis was involved in a serious racing accident in 2002 at Nazareth Speedway, which left him with a traumatic brain injury. He was forced to retire from racing as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.
Despite his racing career being cut short, Jeff Purvis is still remembered as a talented and accomplished driver in the world of motorsports.
